A frost plug heater is an electric heater that heats the engine of a vehicle to give quicker starts and protects your engine from damage that can occur during cold weather starts. Warmed engines also deliver better fuel economy, plus improves oil flow to provide better lubrication to the engine, which reduces wear and increases engine life. The frost plug heater also cuts back on pollution as it aids in vaporization of fuel, thereby cutting back on emissions..../ Kat's 11419 400 Watt 28mm Frost Plug Heater / Engine Block Heater

Customer Review :
Works well, great price : Kat's 11419 400 Watt 28mm Frost Plug Heater
I bought this heater for my 1996 Honda Accord and my 1999 Honda Civic. I run the heaters on a timer for 2hrs on the below 10 degree F nights. The cars start up like it is 32 degrees even when it is 15 below.
The heaters were easy to install although the original 28mm steel Honda plug is really torqued tight (100 ft-lbs if I remember correctly). The heater does not go in a freeze plug but in a special block drain / heater adapter plug hole in bottom rear, center of the 4 cylinder block. I had to go to Harbor Freight and get a set of cheap metric heavy-duty half inch drive impact sockets plus use a breaker bar to get the original plug out. The cord on the heater is fairly short but long enough that it can be carefully routed straight forward to the grill and on the way tie wrapped to holes in the plastic air dam under the car. The 3 prong AC plug on the cord plugs is so tight into an extension cord that I added an intermedate plug to make the connection easier to undo in cold weather. Some people add a very short pigtail extension cord so if the end of the wire fatigues they just replace it.
